Diamond Valley, formed on January 1, 2023 when Black Diamond and Turner Valley amalgamated, sits southwest of Calgary in Foothills County. It has some of the oldest housing stock we work on, and the electrical reflects that.
Turner Valley was an oil and gas town from 1914 onward, and Black Diamond grew alongside it. Housing from that era and the decades after is still lived in, still being renovated, and still holding wiring installed long before anyone imagined the loads a modern household carries. Older homes are not a problem to avoid. They are just work that has to start with looking.
Yes, and it is much of what the area needs. Homes here go back to the oil and gas era, which means knob-and-tube, early aluminum, fuse panels and decades of additions are all still in service.
Yes. We inspect the wiring, tell you plainly what is there, carry out any replacement or remediation required, and provide documentation of the work, which is the part insurers actually want.
Yes. It is one of the seven communities we serve, along with Springbank, Calgary, Cochrane, Airdrie, Indus and Okotoks.
Often, yes. How much has to be opened depends on the layout, attic and basement access, and how much old wiring is being replaced. We walk the house and tell you what the disruption really looks like before you commit to anything.
Tell us where in Diamond Valley you are and what the job involves. We will come back with a clear quote and a plain explanation.
